Acoustic diodes have been made using ATA Mute mufflers. We designed dampers to either completely transmit or fully absorb acoustic energy. By combining these two capabilities, we constructed acoustic diodes. This acoustic diode can be incorporated into the upstream side of the burner to achieve thermo-acoustic stabilization. The reflection coefficient value is set at |R|<0.2 across the 20-2000 Hz range.
